'Your Local Friendly Walking Group'
 ...that's what people call us...

Castle Bromwich Rambling Club is a group within 'The Ramblers'. Our catchment area for members is Castle Bromwich and surrounding districts including Shard End, Chelmsley Wood, Marston Green, Hodge Hill, Coleshill, Castle Vale & Water Orton. But there's no need to worry, the group is open to everybody wherever you live.

A warm welcome awaits you.. whether you are an experienced walker or someone who is thinking of taking up walking, you will find a warm welcome from our group members. Please come along and see for yourself.
We normally meet on Sundays at 9am in the service road on the corner of Chester Road & Hurst Lane, Castle Bromwich. You will need to bring a good comfy pair of walking boots/shoes, waterproof clothing, and a packed lunch. If you would like to find out more about what we get up to, please feel free to have a look around this website.

If you wish to join us for a walk, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Our friendly Chairman, David Threlkeld, knows just about everything there is to know about the group and will be very pleased to help. So give him a call on 0121 788 0650, or if you prefer send him an email at cbramblers@yahoo.co.uk

We have recently started to promote our walks on the Ramblers Walksfinder, click here to see our page.

For dog walkers, we only allow dogs on walks which are identified as dog-friendly in our Walk Programme.

And now for the official stuff... 'The Ramblers' exists to facilitate, for the benefit of everyone, the enjoyment and discovery that walking outdoors can bring, and to promote respect for the life of the countryside. 'The Ramblers' encourages walking, protects rights of way, defends the beauty of the countryside, and has campaigned for many years for freedom to roam over uncultivated open country.
'The Ramblers' are a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales. Company Registration No:4458492.  Registered Charity in England and Wales number:1093577

Mike gets pride of place on the picture board this month. Here he is leading his early December walk in and around Tixall and Shugborough. We walk all year through, with January being a very popular time for new walkers. So if you are thinking about it, take the plunge and just do it!

Our Summer 2017 Walks Programme (April - September) is in preparation.
All members should have received an email with a link to an online form where they can sign up to lead a walk.
There are 45 slots to be filled. We really need established leaders to sign up for 2 or 3 walks but we would also like anyone who has not led a walk before to sign up for maybe a short summer walk.

Please sign up soon. Early responders get the best choice of dates/locations.
